College football mascots can be funny, annoying, and in rare cases downright creepy. However, many of the top ones are also iconic. Whether it be cultural branding, strong recognition nationally, or a heavy prescence on social media, these mascots have all stuck out from their peers.

The Duck (Oregon): Oregon’s Duck Mascot comes in at #1 on this list, with its many antics often making the news. From doing hundreds of pushups on Saturdays to its original inspiration from Disney’s Donald Duck, the Oregon Duck is the most recognized mascot in the sport.
Bevo (Texas): The iconic live mascot of the most recognized college football brand comes in at #2. Who can forget when Bevo almost got to Uga before the Sugar Bowl?
Brutus (Ohio State): The Brutus Buckeye head was the 1st head that Lee Corso ever put on for College Gameday, and its legacy has only grown since then. Brutus is definitely among Ohio State’s most storied figures.
Chief Osceola (FSU): The Seminole chief features in Florida State’s logo, despite a slight tweak in 2014. Chief Osceola still features as the mascot during football games, riding out on his horse Renegade before FSU Football games. Their pre-game entrance is one of the most hyped in college football.
Sooner Schooner (Oklahoma): The Sooner Schooner represents the wagon that’s riden by the OU spirit squad. They went viral for a scary crash a few years back (don’t worry, nobody got hurt). Most recently, Oklahoma has conducted a marketing tour as they enter the SEC, featuring the Sooner Schooner at conference opponent campuses.
