On Tuesday night, news that former star recruit Cormani McClain was entering the Transfer Portal rocked the college football world. He ended up making an appearance in a Twitter Spaces discussion last night, where he let the fans understand why he left. And after hearing what he said, it’s pretty clear that he’s not coming back to Boulder…

It all started when a speaker in a Twitter Space asked Cormani how “deep” was his decision to transfer, and if he had plans to remove his name from the Portal to return to CU.

[On a scale of 1-10] It was an 11. It ain’t on my end, it’s on their end.

This confirms that Cormani has no plans to take his name out of the Portal and come back to Colorado. However, this statement is very vague and it leaves a lot of questions to be answered…

What exactly went down that caused Cormani to enter the Portal? Many are speculating that the program chose to move on from him. Despite being a highly touted prospect, he only started a few games last season. There were also negative reports surrounding his work ethic.

This liked tweet from Cormani’s newest account also gives more of an insight into what might’ve caused this rift…

Regardless, Coach Prime now has 11 open scholarships heading into the Portal. Given Deion’s status as the ‘Portal King’, expect some BIG pickups this spring.
